Naturally, the Museum Café is also the place to have a rest and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea, soft drink or one of the beer brands typical of southern Limburg. How about a glass of "Korenwolf"?

Korenwolf is the name of a type of Limburg white beer. It takes its name after the Limburg term for the hamster (Cricetus cricetus), a small mammal of the size of a guinea pig. In the Netherlands, hamsters are confined to southern Limburg, in part on account of the structure of loess which allows them to dig deep holes and tunnels. Changing agricultural methods are injurious to hamsters: their numbers rapidly decrease.
